mother nature has been giving me shrinkage!

Yup! It's cold out, and with mother nature gently fondling my nether regions my preference is to stay indoors and do a little bit of nothing! On a good note, my commuter bike is finished! Have yet to give it a real test, still waiting for my bags and rack to come in.

Got on the bike a little bit and my legs felt decent, which was a surprise to me. This weekend depending on the weather, as I also have become a candy ass like my friend Justin Farmer, my butt might get on the saddle for a few hours, maybe with the likes of my old time friend Mike Padgett..

My mountain bike is on the sidelines at the moment as my attempt to convert it to disc brakes went .. well .. not as expected. Adapters and different size rotors are needed; however, my air head ass learned a lil sumthin sumthin about brakes in the process, go ahead, ask me anything!

It feels good to be where here at the moment, peaceful, with family, new responsibilities and everything that comes with that. Life does not suck!

Day 1 – Honesty is the best policy!

I'm going to be very honest about this whole experience on this blog. Some of you will laugh at me, some of you will sympathize, some of you will call me weak and what not, but know that this is not for you, its for my son, daughter and wife…

When I got home, my mood was somber at best, poor Monette has had to put up with a lot of this lately mostly because my core doesn't feel like it used to. There should probably be some kind of medicinal intake on my part, but usually riding my bike would take care of it. I'm not riding anymore, and my caloric intake is that of a sumo wrestler, put everything together and the recipe equal's disaster!

Day 1.

Skipped breakfast, ate a high carbohydrate lunch consisting of leftover greenbean casserole and mashed potato's. 1000 calories! All went well until dinner time, I had a 3 piece fried chicken meal and 2 burritos.. like 3200 calories, empty calories! Funny thing is for like 1 hour I felt great and happy and like myself.. That was quickly washed away by a lazy fog of nothingness.. Not good, something has to change!!

like a child.. riding in the rain and playing with ants!

there were several "reminiscent" factors to this mornings ride. first and foremost was the route. back in the innocence of being a noob we'd meet up at 5 a.m. and ride in the dark, no lights or very minimal to say the least. irongambit was part of that crew.. you memberrrR? we were tough, training when no one else trained, hehe what can i say, we were total noobs and ignorant! today, that was the route that my bike was steered towards, so my thoughts were with my old friends, steve, aaron, and eddie. a simple sigh at the direction life has taken us all was all i left.

second was the rain! rain was never a factor on whether or not my ride would be postponed in the old days. when my eyes opened today i checked the weather and almost smiled at the fact that it wasn't going to stop me, my rubber was going to hit tarmac regardless of what mother nature had in store for me. so out the door with intent, and no worries on the wetness to be incurred.

third.. playing with ants.. memories triggered by this photo i took.
